On the afternoon of June 17th, Vice President Dai Shixun visited the table tennis team of Northern Lights Confucius Institute, Iceland.

From June 3rd to 19th, a table tennis team composed of 4 coaches and 8 players from Northern Lights Confucius Institute, Iceland conducted an in-depth exchange with our high-level table tennis players about table tennis at our university. In addition to training, the university opened some interesting courses for the delegation, such as Chinese, calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting.

The delegation also visited Nantang Old Street with characteristics of the local customs and the landmark Tianyi Square. They were deeply impressed by the profound cultural heritage and the rapidly developing modern economy of Ningbo.

While organizing various activities, the center has developed a Manual of Common Chinese Wordings about Table Tennis in trilingual (Chinese-Icelandic-English) version, including 100 Chinese words and 100 Chinese sentences about table tennis, which promotes the communication among Icelandic table tennis fans in Chinese, improves the practicability and appeal of Chinese in Iceland, and make the Table Tennis Center at the University of Iceland be extended to be the second class for Chinese teaching.
