From August 24 to 27, six students of our school, led byNingBo Bureau of Culture Radio & Tv, Press and Pulication and Ningbo Education Bureau, were invited to participate in the “East Asian Cultural Capital” youth exchange activity in Nara, Japan. Mr. Nakagawa, Mayor of Nara, met with the Ningbo delegation at the Nara Activity Center. He extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation and introduced the cultural history of Nara and the basic information of the exchange.

A total of 42 students from China, Japan and Korea participated in the exchange. At the beginning of the activity, the Chinese, Japanese and Korean delegations introduced their hometown by means of guessing games, drawing pictures, and displaying PPT, etc. And they quickly established friendship through games such as Words Solitaire, You Draw and I Guess, etc. At the seminar, the famous Japanese dancer and choreographer, Saren’oRi, led the youngsters to relax their bodies and minds, overcome language barriers, stretch their bodies,show themselves with choreography, and communicate with their surroundings by using bodies as languages. Nara artist, the University’s associate professor Nishio Mi, divided the youngsters of three countries into groups. Each group had full discussions and decided the theme freely to remake the white shirt.. This helped to stimulate the imagination and creativity of youngsters. During this period, our students, guided by the local guides, visited the Toshodai Temple, the World Cultural Heritage, and the siteof Heijokyo, Nara Park and other famous local scenic spots. Moreover, they tasted the local cuisine of Nara. In the activity, the students communicated with each other through various methods, felt the cultural differences of various countries zero distance, and built a bridge of friendly exchanges among the three countries with art as the link.
