Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a notice that the doctoral education program in Clinical Medicine and Life Sciences organized by our university in cooperation with the Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC) has been approved. The number of approval document is MOE33FR1A20192031N and it is valid until December 31, 2027. The program will be incorporated into the national doctoral postgraduate enrollment plan with a six-year academic system and it will start to enroll students in 2020 with a total enrollment of six student. The program will adopt a dual-campus dual-mentor and “1+3+2” training model. After passing the exam, students will obtain a diploma and a doctoral degree certificate in Clinical Medicine of Ningbo University and a doctoral degree in Life Sciences from the UBFC. The project aims to cultivate international high-level outstanding and innovative medical talents to meet the needs of regional economic and social development.
It is reported that this time, a total number of 44 Sino-foreign cooperation education projects at or above bachelor’s degree have been approved nationwide and there are three in Zhejiang Province; in addition, there are only two projects at the doctoral level nationwide. The successful application of the project marks a solid step taken by our university in introducing foreign high-quality resources into its Sino-foreign cooperation projects and making full use of foreign medical practice resources to cultivate international high-level medical talents. Meanwhile, it marks a breakthrough in the Sino-foreign cooperation projects of our university from undergraduate to postgraduate to doctoral cultivation.
Linkage: UBFC is a multi-disciplinary research university community, integrating seven higher education research institutions in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Since 2016, the UBFC has been approved as a key national construction project of the French government’s “Investment in the Future Plan” and has become one of the members of the Initiative of Excellence, IDEX.
