On the morning of June 4, 2024, a delegation led by Daniel Crespo, President of Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain, visited our university. Cai Ronggen, President of Ningbo University, met with the delegation, and Vice Presiden Dai Shixun presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, President Cai Ronggen extended a warm welcome to the delegation. According to him, boasted with splendid and time-honored civilizations, China and Spain have established a comprehensive strategic partnership. The cooperation between Ningbo University and Polytechnic University of Catalonia began in 2015. With nearly 10 years of exchanges and cooperation, the two universities have made achievements in joint postgraduate programme, Sino-foreign cooperative educational project, exchange of teachers, scientific research cooperation, and other aspects, and it is hoped that both universities will promote greater international cooperation and talent training.

Daniel Crespo expressed his appreciation for our warm welcome, as well as the achievements made by our university in recent years. according to him, both universities have much in common in teaching, scientific research and achievement transformation thanks to an outstanding science and engineering background, and it is hoped to promote their academic cooperation by collaboration between professors. As he pointed out, like Ningbo University, Polytechnic University of Catalonia also attaches great importance to internationalization, and has established cooperative relations with universities around the world, including Ningbo University. He hopes to further expand their exchanges and cooperation with Ningbo University, and deepen the partnership in more fields.

At the meeting, the two sides had a lively discussion and productive exchange on cooperation in transportation, navigation, civil engineering, electronic information engineering, business administration, humanities and media, and other fields.

After the meeting, Zhu Da, Secretary of the Party Committee, met with the delegation of Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

In the afternoon, the delegation of Polytechnic University of Catalonia visited Meishan Campus of Ningbo University.

The relevant heads of departments and schools, such as the CPC Party Committee Office/President’s Office, International Office, Business School, School of Humanities and Communication, School of Physics, Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering & Environment, Faculty of Maritime and Transportation, and School of Marine Sciences, took part in the meeting.
