Recently, Dai Shixun, member of the CPC Committee of Ningbo University was invited to lead a delegation to visit Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, as well as Politecnico di Torino and the University of Verona in Italy.
During the visit to Brasov, Corina Silvia Micu, Director of the International Office of Transylvania University, Adrian Lacatus, Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as well as directors of the Confucius Institute warmly received the delegation. Dai Shixun said that Transilvania University of Brașov is the largest university in Central Romania. With a high degree of fit in competitive disciplines of two universities, and a solid foundation in the automotive industry of the two cities, there is a good foundation for cooperation. Ningbo University is very willing to make cooperation with the university. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on student exchange, teacher visits, and industry-education integration. After the meeting, the delegation visited the university’s research and development center, the international conference center and the central library.
During stay in Italy, the delegation successively visited Politecnico di Torino and the University of Verona. Marco Begani, Domain Expert - Relations with China at the Student, Education and International Affairs (STUDI) of Politecnico di Torino, and Professor Erasmo Carrera and Professor Alfonso Pagani from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering warmly received the delegation led by Dai Shixun. During the meeting, the two sides made full discussions on the preparation of joint laboratories, the construction of innovative international talent cooperation projects, joint scientific research by teachers, and the planning of Sino-foreign cooperation projects. During the period, the delegation visited the laboratory of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and met with the doctoral candidates of Ningbo University who receive joint training at Politecnico di Torino.
At the University of Verona, Diego Begalli, Vice-Rector of the University of Verona, Maddalena Pigozzi, Director of the International Office of the University of Verona, Dean of the Department of Human Sciences and Associate Professor of the Chinese Department of the Department of Human Sciences delivered a warm welcome to the delegation. Vice-Rector Diego Begalli has attached great importance to the cooperation and exchanges with Ningbo University. The two sides agreed that Ningbo and Verona are sister cities. The two schools were established almost in the same period, plus high fit in competitive disciplines, thus there is a lot of room for cooperation in student exchanges, teacher visits, joint scientific researches, etc. After the meeting, Dai Shixun witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.
Personnel from the International Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics paid a visit to the universities with the delegation.
