On May 28, the 2ndMeeting of Joint Administrative Committee of Ningbo University-University of Angers Joint Institute at Ningbo was held in conference room 812 at Anzhong Building. Shen Manhong, President of Ningbo University and Director of the Joint Management Committee of Ningbo University-University of Angers Joint Institute at Ningbo presided over the meeting. President Representative of University of Angers, France, Philippe Violier, Vice President Representative, Philippe Duhamel, Party Committee Member of the University, Wang Haohan, Party Committee Secretary of Joint Institute, Chen Biyuan, Executive Vice-President of Joint Institute, Shen Shiwei, and other members of Joint Institute Committee attended the meeting.
The meeting fully discussed the enrollment scale, faculty construction, scientific research capacity improvement, botanical garden campus construction and other issuesof the Joint Institute, and reached a high consensus.
President Shen Manhong pointed out on the meeting that Joint Institute has been in a stable development process through joint efforts of China and France and the cooperation of various departments of the university over the past year since the establishment of the Joint Institute. It is hoped that the institute will attach importance to personnel training, focus on teaching and scientific research at the same time, and promote teaching with scientific research so as to achieve the transformation of the institute from teaching type to research type. He hopes that the institute will work hard to refine its features and highlight internationalization, and recruit international students while cultivating Chinese students.
Professor Violier and Professor Duhamel both fully affirmed the communication and cooperation between the two universities since the establishment of the Sino-French Joint College and expressed confidence in the sustainable development of the Sino-French Joint Institute.
Relevant heads of International Office, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Human Resource Office, Humanities and Social Sciences Department, Campus Planning and Construction Office, Logistics Management Office, Botanical Garden Campus Management Committee, etc. presented at the meeting.
