On May 28 and 29, Vice President, Shao Qianjun attended the 6th China-CEEC Education Policy Dialogue and the 5th Meeting of the China-CEEC College and University Federation held in Shenzhen.
About 200 people including Tian Xuejun, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education, Huang Ningshen, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Gao Zimin, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen City and department leaders of competent departments of education of CEEC, ambassadors to China, college and university representatives from China and foreign countries attended the 6th China-CEEC Education Policy Dialogue on May 28. Tian Xuejun pointed out that “16+1” education cooperation had received fruitful achievements taking the ship of traditional friendship and with the help of “the Belt and Road” together over the past 5 years. Facing the future, China and central and eastern European countries should display the subject advantages and education characteristics each other, vigorously promote the cooperation in the field of higher education, innovationand entrepreneurship, vocational education, school sports, etc., further strengthen education strategy docking, conduct close education pragmatic cooperation and jointly promote the stable and long-term China-CEEC education exchanges and cooperation under the framework of “16 + 1” cooperation and “the Belt and Road”.
On May 29, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education, Tian Xuejun, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Gao Zimin and representatives of 24 colleges and universities from central and eastern European countries and more than 110 colleges and universities in China attended the5th Meeting of the China-CEEC College and University Federation.
Tian Xuejun said in his speech that China-central and east European countries cooperation of colleges and universities is an important part of China’s higher education international cooperation, all kinds of cooperation at all levels strongly promote the subject construction and talent cultivation of colleges and universities in relevant countries and enhance the ability of colleges and universities to service for their countries’ social and economic development. Tian Xuejun put forward 3 suggestions in consolidating growth period, building incubators and fostering new kinetic energy for the future development of the College and University Federation and encouraging college and universities of China to conduct more pragmatic cooperation with colleges and universities and academic institutions in central and eastern European countries to constantly enhance the international level of higher education.
This meeting surrounded the theme of “Strengthening China - central and eastern Europe Education Cooperation·Cultivating Innovative Talents”, on which representatives of competent departments of education in central and eastern European countries, representatives of Office of Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban), National Overseas Study Fund Management Committee and China Education Association for International Exchange made statements separately to share practical experience in promoting education cooperation between China and CEEC. China Education Association for International Exchange published the exchange platform website of China-CEEC College and University Federation; many member colleges and universities including Shenzhen University, University of Novi Sad, etc. signed a series of cooperation agreements and announced to launch a group of practical cooperation projects.
