Biography of Prof. Lu Wen FengDr. Lu Wen Feng is currently an Associate Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, USA. He had been with the University of Missouri, USA for ten years, started as Assistant Professor and promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 1996. He later spent six years in Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology as a senior scientist and group manager before joining NUS in 2005. He had been the Director of Research and Industry at the Design Technology Institute from 2005 to 2008. His research interests include Engineering Design, Industry Informatics, Sustainable Design and Manufacturing, 3D Printing, and Electric vehicles. He has been successfully securing more than 10 millions (US dollars) of grants from National Science Foundation (USA), US industry, Singapore funding agencies and Singapore industry. He has published more than 200 technical articles in refereed international journals and conferences. He had been the faculty advisor of NUS Eco-car team, which has built four five concept cars in the last several years. These cars have won several awards and championships in Shell Eco-marathon Asia. He was also the recipient of Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award and Faculty Advisor Award from Society of Automotive Engineers, USA.
